GAETANO MOIRANO – HEAD COACH/GM
Coach “G” rejoins the Yellowstone Quake for his 2nd season. An exciting turnaround for the program in 2025-26 gives the quake a new outlook on its future. Coach Moirano’s focus is to deliver structure, high-level training, and honest mentorship to help players advance to higher junior levels, college, or pro hockey. He emphasizes accountability and development on and off the ice.
Over the past decade, he has coached at every level from youth to minor pro. During the 2022-23 season, he guided the WBS Knights Elite to a Mid-Atlantic Division title and a USPHL Elite National Championship double overtime thriller, highlighted by a 28-game win streak. For the 2024-25 season, Coach Moirano served as Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations for the Binghamton Buzz (NA3HL) and as an Assistant Coach with the Elmira Aviators (NAHL). He lead Binghamton to a 25-game win streak, an East Division Championship, and a Fraser Cup appearance. In his first season with the Quake, Coach Moirano has rebuilt the team to win eleven games and drawn three others into overtime taking his overall junior coaching record to 96-44-5 over three seasons.
Prior to becoming a junior hockey coach, Moirano was an Assistant Coach for the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League and Hockey Development Coordinator for the Los Angeles Kings. Coach G graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha received a Bachelors of Science in Business and Psychology. He continued his education and recieved a Masters of Science in Sport Business/Management in 2022 from West Virginia University.
For Moirano, success is built through culture, discipline, and trust. As the Quake enter a new chapter, he’s focused on building a team that competes with purpose.

Kim Youngquist is the founder of Peak Performance Athlete Coaching and a mental performance coach with over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience. As a current high school health and physical education teacher, along with being a former collegiate athlete herself and mom of three athletes, Kim understands firsthand the mental challenges that athletes, parents, and coaches face at every level of the game. Kim helps athletes go from average to elite by training the brain to change the game — blending proven mindset strategies with real-world experience to unlock the full potential in every athlete she works with.
